Telehealth & Prescription Policy
Colon Liver Gastro Consultants, PLLC — effective September 2026
Who we treat by telehealth
Telehealth (video or telephone) visits are offered only to established patients of Colon Liver Gastro Consultants — patients whose identity has been verified and who have been evaluated by our physician, with a documented physician-patient relationship. New patients are seen in person at one of our offices first. As a matter of practice policy this is stricter than Texas telemedicine rules require.
Telehealth visits are available only to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit, where our physician is licensed by the Texas Medical Board.
How prescriptions work
- Any prescription is written only after a physician evaluation and only when it is medically appropriate for you. No medication is available for purchase from this website, and no medication is prescribed on the basis of an online form alone.
- Prescriptions are transmitted electronically (e-prescribing) to the pharmacy of your choice, or to the pharmacy your insurance requires. You purchase medication directly from that pharmacy.
- Our practice does not sell, stock, ship, or dispense prescription drugs, and does not accept payment for medications. Payments made to our practice are for medical services only.
- Controlled substances are not prescribed through telehealth visits.
